Lars is CEO of Vespucci Maritime and has been in the container shipping industry for 25 years.  He’s a well-known thought leader, providing more than 150,000 followers on LinkedIn with daily insights on the most important developments in the industry.

Mr. Jensen began his career by doing a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and then switched track to apply his skills within the container shipping sector.  Initially as Chief Analyst for Maersk Line, but since 2011 as an independent analyst and consultant in the industry with Vespucci Maritime.

In addition to container shipping analysis, Lars has also been involved in launching a range of other ventures in the shipping industry.  Notably LinerGame which is a training and simulation game where participants use vessels and containers made from LEGO bricks to operate a container line. Lars still acts as coach and facilitator on game sessions around the world.

In 2024, Lars was recognized by Lloyd’s List as one of the 100 most influential people in global shipping due to his public coverage of container shipping developments.
